Appalachia Service Project
The 2020 trip has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 virus.
Consider helping to make homes warmer, safer and drier.
ASP provides vital housing services to low-income families living in Central Appalachia as well as transformational life experiences to both those we serve and the volunteers offering their service.
In 2019 we served in Perry County, Kentucky. Click here to view the slideshow.
Our Mission
The Danbury Appalachia Service Project is managed under the auspices of the Danbury United Methodist Church in cooperation with other local churches. Our mission is to provide high school aged youth from the greater Danbury, CT area an opportunity to volunteer a week of their summer, repairing the homes of low-income families in Central Appalachia. The youth, and their adult chaperones, take part in the Appalachia Service Project Youth Program which is headquartered in Johnson City, TN. There are no requirements to belong to any religious organization in order to participate.
